The Ground Effect Advisors will help Zachary get Cape Fear Flyers off the ground and become the only flying club at Wilmington International Airport (KILM). Zachary Piech is a 300 hour commercial pilot with an instrument rating. Zachary earned his advanced certificate and rating while flying with the Condair Flyers, a 75 member, 5 aircraft flying club based in Albany, New York. He is an alumnus of Rensselear Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Computer and Systems Engineering. Zachary is the President and co-founder of Family owned and operated, is an internet retailer of pet supplies employing 41 and shipping over 20,000 orders per month. Previously, he served at the NASA Ames Research Center, Advanced Micro Devices and ReQuest INC. He is named in three patents for his work. Zachary has been a member of AOPA for over a decade, is a Captain & Squadron Deputy Commander in the Civil Air Patrol and is a member of the EAA. In 2012, he started raising interest in the Cape Fear Flyers flying club with a vision of creating access to technically advanced aircraft for the general aviation community of southeast coastal North Carolina. Zachary is a resident of Wilmington where he lives with his wife Cate and son Henry.
